Berta

2016 / Dir. Ethel Jagolkowski / Bande à Part film school.

Berta, tells the story of a woman who has lost her baby and who does not want to face that harsh reality. Berta flees from her suffering hiding in the fantasy that her baby is still alive. Walks the streets of Barcelona with the cart and walks through the parks pretending she carries her daughter. Her husband Juan, tries to take her back from that state of madness in which she finds herself.

“Berta” is the name of the shortfilm that has been written by Ethel Jagolkowski herself, inspired by an imaginary about how she, as a mother, could react if there was a limit situation that had to do with her daughter. The protagonist of her story, begins by showing behaviors derived from the depression in which she lives, and is confronted by her partner, who with love and despair guides her until she herself faces her reality and regains her judgment.

I was selected through an online casting to perform at Ethel Jagolkowski final work for Bande à Part film school in Barcelona.
